Calla Lilly propogation
My Cala Lily has a pod full of berry looking things. Are these seeds and if so when do I harvest and plant?

Yes, the berry like things are seeds of your calla lily bulb. You can remove the berries now and spread them onto a damp paper towel and keep them covered with a damp cloth while they sit in a cool, dry spot. After a few weeks you should see some of the berry like pods sprouting or breaking open. These are the seeds you can then plant into small pots of potting soil. Grow them for a year in containers making sure the young plants do not dry out. Then you can transplant them into the ground and wait another two years until they grow to blooming size. Calla lilies are most often multiplied by dividing the tubers of the mother plant as growing from seed takes 3 years or more to get the new plants to blooming size. Seed growing is a fun challenge so just grow for it. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti sixe uanotha traseeds do ianers ieeh edry them in the sun so that in the fall the seeds sav
