How to get rid of invasive pests in a greenhouse
We are losing everything in our greenhouse to whitefly, spider mites, aphids, and then blight. The aphids are so bad the pepper blossoms can’t open. We have tried everything organic i.e. soapy water with cayenne, Captain Jacks, Se7en, and have even gone to a stronger route. They seem to thrive on it. What can we do…we collect rain water… is that an issue? If not this year what can we do to prepare for next year? It is so disappointing. We had planned on using that food for the winter months.

Sounds like you need an exorcist for the bugs that have been deviling you. One chemical free method is to remove all plants and close the greenhouse during sunny weather. Let the sun solarize and disinfect the inside of the greenhouse by allowing the temps to go over 100 degrees. Keeping a greenhouse insect-free is almost impossible because you will always need to vent during the summer. Letting the winter cold or summer heat neutralize the overpopulation will help. You may want to contact the commercial greenhouses in your area and see what method they are using.
