10 years ago, when I first started growing lavender (non-commercially) here in Sequim, I carefully followed the cutting-back directions (specifically, NOT cutting into the wood). What I got the next season, year after year, was leggy, top-heavy, floppy plants that created huge, dark” unattractive spaces in the plant dome.
