Climbing Vines recommendation
We live in Bonney Lake. Looking for recommended vine that will climb a trellis next to our cedar fence. Fence runs east/west and vine would be on the north side of fence. My wife says she doesn’t want a bloomer; more interested in a wall of foliage. The vine’s roots would be next to our lawn with sprinkler system. Easy care and/or minor pruning would be a plus!

A well behaved vine for the shaded side of a fence could be the akebia vine which is semi-evergreen with unusual spring blooms or one of the small leaf variegated ivy vines but NOT the English ivy that is very invasive. You could also let a euonymus fortuni or 'Winter Creeper' shrub grow up the fence as a vine. This woody shrub will grow as a vine if allowed to attach to a fence. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
