Can a lawn be re-seeded in sunny weather?

Finally got my yard ready to re-seed. .. have 5 yards of the two-way coming today at 2 PM, AND it is supposed to be in 80 degrees this weekend. Am I crazy to reseed now ? I Do have a sprinkler system. Also, which seeds do you find best to use?
Thank you Caron

You can do it! Seeding a new lawn when the weather is sunny means you will need to water several times a day but the seed will sprout quickly and the new lawn will fill in fast so just go for it. Be prepared to hand water with a fine mist as a sprinkler system may not reach all off the newly seeded areas and may not distribute the water evenly. If you see some of the soil turning light in color while other parts remain dark and moist that is when you hand water the light sections. I like any of the new lawn seeds that are drought resistant. You may pay more for the patent on these new grass varieties but they are worth it in the long run. Look for brand names and a higher price and avoid the \"playground\" and bargain grass seeds.
