Plant this bulb plant (look it up under its Latin name Colocasia) in a warm and shaded spot as they love to grow in tropical climates like Hawaii. They are heavy feeders so fertilize with both a slow release plant food, add organic matter to the soil and also give them a liquid plant food once a month. If kept fed and given plenty of water you can expect the huge leaves to reach six feet tall. Once you plant the tuber (covered with about two inches of soil) you should see growth in two to three weeks - but only if the weather is warm - above 60 degrees.
