Love the photo of your gorgeous tree in bloom! Crape Myrtle do best in warm climates and because they bloom on new wood they flower best when pruned in winter or early spring. Just shorten long branches and remove those that cross or the lowest of the side branches. This will help to retain the tree-like shape. Heavy watering and any fertilizer given in the summer can risk encouraging new growth that can then make the tree less hardy and unable to survive the winter weather. For this reason in most cases you do not need to do any regular feeding of your Crape Myrtle. For more blooms, prune more. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
