Miniature species of rhododendrons
I want to add Rhodies to my garden beds but I hate when they get huge and leggy. What are good miniature species of Rhodies?

Yes, there are rhododendrons that stay small and compact. Look for the 'Yak\" varieties and also for any rhodies with small leaves. The rhododendron impeditum have small gray leaves and sapphire blue flowers and can tolerate full sun. They grow to about 2 feet tall after ten years. Another compact rhododendron that blooms pink is called Ginny Gee and in my garden this little darling is still under four feet tall after 25 years. Spring is a good time to visit your local nurseries and find more compact and dwarf rhododendrons all ready to be adopted into your landscape.
Keep growing - but not too tall,
