Marianne's Response
Debbien’s Question
I love my everbearing Hydrangeas for their constant blooms from early summer to fall. However, this creates a bit of a conundrum – when to deadhead or prune. How and when do I prune them to keep them in check as well as still have blooms next year?

Marianne's Response
Let the cutting begin! Get snippy with the Endless Summer hydrangeas all summer long from June until September and these plants will keep making new flowers. Wait until early spring when the daffodils bloom to really shorten any shrubs that have grown too large. You do not need to deadhead but can if you want a tidy look. Some gardeners in cold climates feel the dead flowers protect the tip growth - but that is not necessary with the Endless Summer hydrangeas as they bloom on old and new growth. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
