Delicate Fern
What is the name of this lovely fern & how do I take care of it. Also, I sure appreciate all the help you have already given me on newly acquired house plants.
Have fun at the Tacoma show 😊

It is our pleasure here at PlantersPlace to help with your garden care. What a beautiful maidenhair fern you have! This woodland fern has many different forms and varieties but all need moist soil and love high humidity. Set the pot on a bed of pebbles with water around it but don't let the roots sit in water. Keep the soil moist at all times. To avoid yellowing of the fronds do not get them wet when watering the plant. Water just the soil. Ferns do not like full strength fertilizer as they are not heavy feeders. I would add just 1/4 teaspoon of Osmocote once a year to the top of the soil on a fern of your size. If you do need to repot the fern in a couple of years make sure you add organic matter such as packaged weed free compost to the potting soil. This woodland fern loves organic matter. As for sunlight, do not set this plant in a sunny window. It prefers indirect light as the fronds can sunburn. Finally, remember how much this plant loves a moist atmosphere. It would love to grow near a kitchen sink or in a bathroom with steam from a shower. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
