I cover my newly planted seeds and young plants with chicken wire to keep the cats from digging. You can also sprinkle red pepper in the areas they dig, or lay thorny rose or barberry branches on top of the soil. A squirt gun also works to scare them away. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
