Using Osmocote on live oaks
How much Osmocote should I use for mature trees (live oaks) that are 10-15 inches in trunk diameter? Also the bottle of Osmocote (indoor/outdoor plan food) makes reference to a “capful”. Is the “capful” the spoon that comes in the bottle or is it the “cap” to the bottle or is the spoon one tablespoon?

The spoon included with the Osmocote is one tablespoon. You can measure out the tablespoons into the cap and then spread this around your plants. I am wondering why you would like to fertilize your mature oak trees. Unless you have a problem with them I do not recommend feeding large, mature, healthy trees. The roots of most trees reach down deep and wide and they can find nutrients on their own. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
