Dividing asparagus crowns

I have a number of asparagus (asparagii?) about ten years old. Their crowns have gotten quite large. Can these crowns be divided to form more plants? Your help is much appreciated.

Yes - early spring is the time to dig up your old asparagus roots and divide them by one half or if very large cut the roots into four sections. The replant the roots for more asparagus. The asparagus is a long lived perennial that can keep producing for up to 50 years if you just divide those roots every 7 to 10 years. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
