Do Hostas Bloom?
My son found this in amongst the hosta plants I gave him. It looks like there is a bloom. Any idea what it is?

This new offset could be a blooming stem or a stem producing a new hosta pup. You may want to wait to see it the buds hold flowers or new leaves. If you want to have blooming hosta (flowers are usually pale blue or white) let it be. If you just enjoy the lovely hosta foliage then cut out this blooming shoot so energy will go into the hosta leaves not seed production. If the new growth bears foliage and not flowers you can cut it off and root the hosta pup in moist soil. It is usually happy, healthy hosta that send up these shoots so congrats on your healthy plants. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
