Is Casoron safe to use around perennials?

I use Casoron in October and March to keep our rockery free of weeds. It works great. I would like to use it along our chain link fence line to keep our neighbor’s grass and clover from coming into our plants. Also, I’ve read where it can be used around perennials but I am hesitant to do that as I don’t want to kill the plants. Is Casoron safe to use around perennials? If yes, how far away from the plants shall I put it? I use Amaze or Monterrey’s Weed Stopper to spray around the perennials, but I would prefer to use Casoron to cut back on my weeding during the summer. We have 1.5 acres so it is a never ending chore.
