Marianne's Response
Dwarf Hawthorne
I recently purchased & planted 30 dwarf Hawthornes bordering each side of our walkway. We changed the watering system to soakers, since the ops were turning red due to our sprinkler system. They were thendoing well. Now two weeks ago, I was weeding and everything looked great, the next morning, I went out and was shocked to see that most of the tops had been eaten off most of the plants. I called the Agri center in Deland and they really didn’t have an answer. The neighbors across the street do have deer in their back yard on occasion however I have never seen one. I’ve tried googling this, but haven’t come up with any definitive answers. I did purchase Deer Out & also mixes up some peppermint oil solutions. What do you think is eating my Hawthorne’s?
I’m really at a loss. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Jinny Britton
