Pruning and shaping ornamental cedars
Ornamental cedars (pyramid type) have gotten away from us and up to roof. Is there any way they can be pruned and keep some shape (preferably by ourselves)? I’ve asked a couple of places that didn’t want to tackle them.

You can cut back the top of these shrubs at this time of year but don't go any more than removing the top one third. You can also shear the sides by slipping off the outer two or three inches using hedge trimmers. They would be hard to transplant so try moving plants around them to give them more room. You do have the option of cutting them down and starting over - I know it is hard to get rid of healthy plants but it is not against the law. Life is too short to put up with ugly plants.
Keep growing,
