Tiny seeds are best planted mixed with fine sand and then scattered on top of the soil. Just press the sand and seeds firmly into the soil with your hand, do not cover with soil. You will have better germination or sprouting if you first start the seeds in pots. Then thin the seedlings so they are two inches apart and plant in place. Lavender is also easy to grow from cuttings and you will not need to wait so long for results. Sounds like you will have a lovely, fragrant garden. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
