Fast growing vines
I am a new member and appreciate your help! I an trying to grow fast growing climbers (vines, etc) for privacy. Height and width are factors. I live in Northern Ohio so cold tolerance is an issue. The area is mostly shaded but does get some sun.
Any suggestions?
My best regards and thanks

The fasted growing evergreen vine that I know of for your area is English ivy. The problem is this ivy can be so aggressive that it spreads by birds into other areas and can smother native habitat so check with your local nursery that English ivy is legal in your area. There are also vines such as honeysuckle, akebia and smaller leaf ivies that are less invasive. For other privacy ideas consider some shade tolerant shrubs such as laurel and rhododendrons or fencing material strategically placed. Notice what shrubs and evergreen trees do well in your neighbors landscapes and consider these to add more privacy to your wooded area. Perhaps some yews and arborvitae. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
