Favorite Roses …gone BAD?!?…another thought…
I wanted to add another question about this Rose problem.
When I do see one of the original colored blossoms on this rose, would making a cutting of THAT BRANCH and getting it to ROOT, would that give me a new Rosebush that would produce JUST the yellow/red tipped flowers again (withOUT any of the small red only ones?)
Or has something in the original plants genetics made it so that the big yellow/red tipped flower characteristics are almost gone and it is REVERTING to something else that was just one part of how it was originally created (Now ALL RED instead of just a red tip on a MOSTLY yellow pedal??)
…I hope that makes some sense to you :)………AND that you have a solution for me!
THANX,

No, you cannot make a cutting of the red and yellow rose as it does not grow on it's own root stock and is instead a grafted plant. The suckers that took over with the red roses are from the hardy more wild rose root stock. See first answer to question you sent earlier. Marianne Binetti
