Marianne's Response

Why Are My Peonies Flowerless?

I planted 3 peony plants 4 years ago that have yet to blossom. Not sure what to do

Marianne's Response

I love this question because it is usually an easy fix. Peonies will not bloom if planted too deep. Scrape away any mulch over the top of the plants or dig and replant so that the growth eye or top of the center root is  just below the surface of the soil. Lack of sun and poor soil may also cause failure to flower but planting too deep is the most common cause. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
