Growth rates of seeds starting indoors

Hello, my name is Robert and I live in Hampton, Virginia closer to the east coast. I started my seeds inside about 2 weeks ago and I have tomato plants at 1 inch and cucumbers at 1 inch as well. I am still not seeing my cilantro, green bell peppers, and chives as of yet. Do those three seeds need extra time to grow or are they just slower in development than the other seeds? It’s not cold in my house and I make sure never to over water them.

First great job on starting your veggies from seed. Sounds like you are on your way - some seeds just take longer to germinate than others so I am sure your peppers, chives, and cilantro will be peeping up soon. One way to encourage these heat-loving seeds to germinate sooner is to set the pots or trays on top of the fridge or any place else that would give them gentle bottom heat. You'll be seeing young sprouts soon. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
