Growing Australian astroturf
In yet another attempt to get something to grow between the stones of my full-sun patio, I’ve ordered Scleranthus biflorus (Australian astroturf) seeds. Their arrival has taken longer than anticipated. Do I need to wait for spring to plant them, or can they be sowed when they arrive, assuming it’s before the ground freezes?

Wait until spring to plant the seeds of this groundcover. When you see tulips in bloom that is your signal to loosen the soil and sow the seeds. Cover them lightly with a bit of peat moss to keep them moist and you should see new sprouts a few weeks later. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
