Marianne's Response

The bigger the bark, the fewer the weeds?

Is it true that the bigger the chunks of bark, the more weed control it offers? If weeds are a problem, use the big chunks of bark?

Marianne's Response

Yes, the bigger chunks of bark offer more weed protection, but putting newspaper under the bark layer offers even more weed blocking ability. I am thrilled that you may have found an old copy of \"Tips for Carefree Landscapes,\" as I wrote that book maybe 20 years ago. Good thing growing plants and blocking weeds has not changed much over the years. Keep growing and keep reading, Marianne Binetti
