Marianne's Response

Flowering plants such as annuals and perennials are best moved when the weather is cool and cloudy, preferably in the evening so the plant can recover during the cool of the night. However you can ignore all this and move plants when it is most convenient for you as long as you water first, them dig around the root ball and immediately place the plant into it's new home and water again. Firm the plant gently into the planting hole and make sure it is at the same soil level as before - not buried too deep or sitting up above the soil line. In hot climates newly transplanted flowers should be shaded for a few days as they adjust. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
