Congrats on your new hibiscus plants. I would add a good capful or 3 tablespoons of Osmocote around each plant. Mix this into the top inch of soil and water well. The Osmocote will feed the plants for 6 months so you do not need to reapply in the summer. Hibiscus plants will bloom the first year of planting but you will get many more flowers the second and third year after planting so be patient. Remember that hibiscus lose their foliage early in the fall (they do not like cold weather) and sprout new leaves very late in the spring - sometimes as late as June so don\'t think your potted plants are dead if you do not see foliage sprouting in early or mid spring.
