Marianne's Response
grfrey’s Question
I was disappointed in your answer in the September 11th TNT to the question about what to do with ground fall apples. Fallen apples are a source of food for rats, possum, racoons and other pests. They also are a source for apple maggot. I agree with your recommendation to donate their surplus to the food bank but good maintenance is important in controlling pests and disease.

Marianne's Response
Thanks for your comment. I do agree that collecting fallen fruit is good garden maintenance and as another benefit keeps the garden tidy. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
