I like pachysandra and have a tidy patch in my own garden. This shade loving evergreen has small flowers in the spring for the pollinators. The complaint about this plant is that it can take over a small garden and underground roots may allow it to spread beyond typical edgings. I grow mine next to a concrete path so it cannot escape. It can grow under trees to keep down weeds but if it does not have decent soil it may turn pale green or yellow and this is why some people do not like it.....packysandra seems to be one of those groundcovers that either looks very good or very sick.
