growing white sage in my garden
how do i grow white sage plants? i am in zone 5B in central illinois. thank you for any help u can give.

Sorry to say but the California White Sage or Bee Sage (Salvia apiana) will not survive in your climate. It thrives in zone 7 - 9 with mild winters. Perhaps you can try the common garden sage Salvia officinalis that will survive in zones 2 - 24. Give this plant full sun, well drained soil and expect it to survive for 3 to 4 years. Then, like most salvias and sage plants it grows woody and begins to decline. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
