No, sorry to say even the hardy hibiscus or Rose of Sharon shrub would freeze in your state. However gardeners always like to prove the experts wrong so why not plant one in a container and then when fall arrives move it into a cold but not freezing garage. Keep the soil rather dry during the winter so the plant will stay dormant. In spring you can gradually get it used to sunlight and fresh air until all danger of frost is past then move it onto the patio. Sometimes it is fun to fool Mother Nature.
