Flower Carpet roses are the first landscape roses and super easy to grow as they are disease resistant with no special pruning requirements. They are sold in containers often with a packet of fertilizer included. The most important part of planting any rose is a location with full to half day of sun and good drainage. Dig a hole three times as wide as the root ball of the plant and twice as deep. This means you will be digging a very large hole for the rose plant and than adding at least half a wheel barrow of compost or three bags of steer manure to the planting hole by mixing it all in with the original soil. Make a mound of this improved soil so that your new rose sits on top of the mound in your deep hole and is at the same depth as it was in the pot - do not plant it too deep. Water the potted rose well the night before so it will slip easily from the container. When you fill in around the rose with compost and soil mix add the fertilizer included with the new rose plant. Firm the soil around the roots with your hands do not compress too hard by stomping on it with your foot. Water and stand back for an explosion of blooms all summer. Roses like a lot of nutrients to keep them in flower so be sure to fertilize every year. You can also find videos on this site about how to plant a rose.
Keep growing,
