What to plant in a wheelbarrow

I planted spring flowers in an old wheelbarrow. It had a good size hole, however, In just one day my flowers burnt up. What can I plant in my wheelbarrow that won’t burn up? Should I try cacti?

Planters made of metal do become very warm in hot climates. Cacti will thrive as will succulents such as ice plant, sedum Angelina, and hens and chicks. The ivy geranium is another flowering plant that thrives in hot spots. You may also want to consider moving the wheelbarrow to a location where it is shaded from the hot afternoon sun. Nice to have a planter on wheels. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
