Your mophead hydrangea (Hortensia) most likely is in a location with too much sun or wind so the blooms dry out and fade quickly. Sometimes as a shrub becomes older it grows tall and is more exposed. Perhaps you could plant something to provide shade and wind control or transplant the hydrangea to a protected spot on the East side of the house where it would get just morning sun.
