How and when to Use Osmocote SRG
Hi,
Recently i purchased vegetables seedlings from garden center. They are Hot peppers, Okra, Cucumber. Bush beans and lablab Indian bean.
I bought 5 gallon white plastic bucket, drilled holes for drainage and filled up with Miracle Gro Moisture Retaining Potting Mix and Black Kow 5-5-5 compost and transfered seedling to buckets. This happens two days ago.
I was using MG all purpose soluable fertilizer. But i want to use Osmocote 14-14-14 for Veggies.
Please explain was i supposed to mix with potting mix first than transfer seedlings?
Now when can i give my plants some OSR granuals to my plants.
Do i need MG all purpose every week eventhough i use Osmocote?
Please help. Thanks.

Sounds like you are doing a good job with your soil and don't worry you can add the Osmocote to the top of the soil around the newly planted seedlings and just work the granules into the top one to three inches. The fertilizer will slowly leak out all summer into the soil. If you use about 5 tablespoons of Osmocote per 5 gallon bucket that should be all the plant food your veggies need for the summer. It is okay if you also used the MG plant food just once but you do not need to use it again. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
