Marianne's Response

So sorry I am not sure I understand the question. Do you mean to use the top of the container for measuring out the Osmocote and using it around the plants? If this is the case then my suggestion is to use the scoop provided with the product and count how many tablespoons or scoops you can place in the top of the container. That will give you an accurate estimate of how much the top will hold. It will also help to realize that you do not need to be exact when applying slow release plant food like Osmocote. If you sprinkle a bit too much or too little around the plants you will not harm them. Slow release means the product is released over time as the plants need it. Hope this helps, Keep growing, Marianne Binetti Hi, Susan! Marianne's advice is always helpful -- you don't have to worry about overfeeding when using Osmocote. If I may weigh in with a technical response (pun intended), the cap on the Osmocoe bottle holds 45 grams, or 1.5873 ounces. 1 capful = 3 spoons (provided in the bottle) = 1 scoopful (provided in a bag). A spoon = 1 TBS. I hope this answers your question. Bob Stohler, manager, PlantersPlace.com
