How to grow million bells?

million bells

I buy million bells hanging baskets every year & they do the same thing every year. They go flat on the top. I water nightly because we have 90° weather and they sit in sun all day. I water from top but put nozzle through the flower down to the soil. What can I do to make the flower full again? The picture is before and after (2weeks after).

Marianne's Response

I am going to guess a bit too much water. The calibrachoas (million bells) hate damp soil and like to be kept on the dry side. The plants along the edge may look better as the soil dries out along the edge of the pot first. You can cut back the top plant a few inches, fertilize and it should explode with new blooms.
