hummercat’s Question

Hello. I’m using Osmocote smart release plant food Plus multi-purpose plant food in my garden. I wanted to know what the active ingredients are and if any of them are neonicotinoids which are fatal to bees? Or harmful to any other pollinators such as hummingbirds and butterflies.
Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Marianne's Response

No worries! Osmocote does not include \"neonics\" and is a fertilizer not an insecticide or a growth regulator. If you are concerned about the environment you should know that Osmocote helps protect the quality of the water as it release fertilizer slowly over time so excess nitrogen is not washed into the ground water. I use Osmocote to protect the quality of my own well water. Now do your pollinators a big favor and remember to plant flowers such as rudbeckia daisy, hellebores, native bloomers and salvia to provide food for the hummingbirds and butterflies all year long. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
