Glad you asked - I love hydrangeas!  I have an entire outdoor room with hydrangea plants for the walls. Hydrangeas prefer morning sun and afternoon shade. They will bloom less with  full shade and will droop and wilt in the hot sun. There are some types of hydrangeas such as the white Pee Gee and Annabelle types that can handle full sun.
