hydrangeas for dry shade
I know hydrangeas don’t like dry soil, but — what is the best hydrangea for dry shade (I’m willing to occasionally hand water).

I would pick the old fashioned mop head or hydrangea macrophylla for dry shade but even then you won't get many blooms in full shade. Hydrangeas flower best with half day of morning sun. If you do use a moisture loving hydrangea in a dry spot make sure to add compost to the planting backfill to hold more moisture and add a 2 to 4 inch layer of wood chips or bark chips as a mulch to seal in moisture.
