Can you give me an idea as to the size of the leaves? Perhaps put your hand or a  trowel in the photo? Also the size of the shrub and how fast it is growing.  I see the photo but not sure if the foliage has small leaves less than 3 inches long (which would leave me to believe it is an abelia) or longer leaves about 4 inches with a bit of hairy ness to the surface of the leaf. If so it could be a Nandina. If the leaves are larger than 4 inches long and shiny and smooth it could be a member of the leucothoe family that does well in the shade.  Lovely and healthy looking whatever it is.
