Marianne's Response

Impatiens

The flowers of my impatient plants are being chewed up. Any idea what it might be? They are planted in pots on my front porch and in what I call blossom bags hanging on the fence along my backyard deck.

Marianne's Response

Thanks for the excellent photo of the damage. Two ideas. It could be tiny pale milk slugs attracted to the cool moist plastic of the bags. Earwigs also nibble on petals. I suggest you use a flashlight and go out at night to catch the guilty party. Pinch the culprits and check behind the bags for their hiding places. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
