Marianne's Response

Houseplants that you find at nurseries and garden centers already growing in pots are the best for indoor use. Look for those that can handle the low light of most homes such as sanseveria or snake plant, philodendron, pathos or for a bright and sunny window the sedums and succulents. The most common cause of indoor plant death is overwatering. Feel the soil to make sure it is dry before you water. Do not let the roots sit in a saucer of their own drainage water. Most houseplants only need water every 7 to 10 days. When you purchase a houseplant look for a care tag that will give you additional growing tips on that particular plant. Welcome to gardening - may your thumb only grow greener. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
