Wisteria are wonderful, flowering vines but I have never heard of of wisteria that is evergreen. Are you sure you do not mean clematis? There are some evergreen clematis. Wisteria needs at least half day of sun and a strong support to climb. Wisteria adapts to hot sun and dry soil. Clematis needs protection from the hot afternoon sun and lives a moist soil with more organic matter. Wisteria is also more cold tolerant while evergreen clematis needs protection from cold winter winds. Perhaps you can send a photo so I'll know for sure what you purchased.
