Please tell me the proper care, moisture, pH, lighting, temperature, adult size, and life span of a Campanula. Thank you very much.

Marianne's Response

Oh my - that are so many different types of campanulas or bell flowers from tiny dwarf rock garden specimens to tall perennials but all have bell shaped blooms in shades of blue, pink, white or purple. In general they like well drained soil, especially the dwarf rock garden types and prefer shade but will tolerate full sun in cool summer climates. They are not picky about ph and the perennial types can survive cold winters below freezing while some annual types will reseed but not survive a frost. The life span ranges from a few months for the annuals to three years for the hardy perennials. Perhaps you can send a photo or more info about the type of campanula you would like to grow. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
