Marianne's Response

Can I successfully grow Forget-me-nots in the North?

I live in the North. How about Forget-me-nots?

Marianne's Response

I love Forget-me-nots and use these baby blue biennials in the more casual parts of my garden. Once they finish flowering they are easy to pull up and add to the compost pile, and they will leave seeds behind that will bloom the following year. They do turn yellow and look unsightly if you do not remove them after blooming. Not sure how far North you live but these are very hardy plants. Warning - some gardeners do not like the reseeding habit and call forget-me-not a pretty weed. They do best in damp soil. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
