Can I root a cutting from a Camilla shrub?

Yes, you need to take a soft wood cutting in mid-summer, choosing a stem that is as long as a pencil. Remove the lower leaves, stick it into a sand or vermiculite rooting medium in a clay pot, and cover with a plastic bag to keep humidity high. Using a rooting hormone powder will help the roots form. Be patient as next summer you will have a rooted cutting to transplant into the ground. Do not let the soil dry out in the pot, but remove the plastic bag when too much condensation builds up.
