Perhaps you didn't realize you must first pull all weeds before putting down Preen. Iris have shallow root so hand weeding works best for them as does a weed blocking mulch. You can even use gravel as a mulch around iris. Good luck this spring - get to those weeds early before they have a chance to go to seed. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
