Invasive ground cover on weeping willow

Hello Marianne
A Weeping Willow tree outside of my window has an invasive ground cover surrounding the base of the tree. Does this affect the health of the tree? Should it be removed? (See attached photo). Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you.

No worries, your willow tree has long and wide ranging roots and that groundcover will not bother it all. Just be sure you do not grow any member of the willow family near a septic system as the long roots can clog drainage fields. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
