Cutting basil

My basil is getting tall. I have pinched it but feel it needs to be cut. If I cut my basil plant, will it still grow, and how should I store it?

You can prune your basil back by one half and it will resprout as long as you give it sunshine and pamper it with a bit of fertilizer. I use Osmocote on both my vegetables and flowers as it will feed for up to 4 months. The best way to preserve your crop of fresh basil is to turn it into a pesto paste made with garlic and olive oil. Store in a jar in the fridge for months. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
