You are not alone in dealing with a suffering monkey tree or Auraucana. I do not think you should blame the heat as these are tropical trees from Australia but rather cold wind and wet soil as they must have good drainage. An arborist would be the best person to inspect the tree and make a specific diagnosis. Check to make sure gutters or other water run off is directed to the tree roots. Good luck, Marianne Binetti
